WPF has placed lagoon covers on lagoons, consturcted methane digesters and solid separators to enhance wastewater treatment in the lagoons, reduce waste loadings into the lagoon and to generate electricity for use in our barns.

Permiable Lagoon Covers provide surface for bacteria growth which promote the breakdown of organic matter in the logoon. Lagoon covers have been installed at the Breeding site, Finisher 1 Site and Finisher 2 Site.

Methane Digesters generate methane gas by breaking up nutrients in the waste water. The methane gas is used to run the generator wich produces electircity for use in the barn as well as heat used to heat the digesters.

Solid Separators remove solids from the waste water by running it through a screen. Solids are land applied as fertilizer. Solid separation reduces the nutrient loadings into the lagoon.
