Wyoming Premium Farms, LLC

Wyoming Premium Farms, LLC was established in November of 1995 with the purpose of producing healthy pigs in a clean environment. Construction of the facilities began in 1996. Introduction of animals and breeding began in July of 1997, with first litter born in October of the same year. First animals to market were shipped out in May of 1998. The feed mill was constructed in 2000, enabling us to produce our own feed.

The facilities consist of a breeding farm housing over 5,000 sows, a nursery
and two finishers with capacity to finish all pigs, feedmill to mix all
feed required and a corporate office. The farms are located away from each
other to protect the pigs from diseases which may be transmitted from farm
to farm.
For the locations of facilities, see the location page.

Most of us who work at Wyoming Premium Farms are from the local area. We realize the importance of community. We are actively involved in the local 4-H programs as well as other charitable activities in the local community.

Our lagoons are among the first in the US to have a poly liner. The liner prevents wastewater from leaking and possibly contaminating the underground water table. A leak detection system is in place to detect any leakage. We have secured land for wastewater application and grow plants with high nutrient uptake to minimize nutrient buildup in soils.

Wind and electric powered aerators as well as various additives have been
tested to increase breakdown of wastes in the lagoons.
Permeable lagoon covers have been placed on lagoons at the Breedig site, Finisher 1 site and Finisehr
2 site.
Methane Digesters at the Breeding site and Finisher 1 site treat waste
water from barns and generates electircity.
Solid separators at Finsher 1 site and the Nursery site remove solids before
draining the wastewater into the lagoons.
